A dofollow link is a hyperlink that allows search engine crawlers to follow it and pass link equity (ranking value) to the linked page. By default, all links are dofollow unless specified otherwise.

## Example

A standard HTML link: Link Text (dofollow by default)

## How to apply it

Prioritize earning dofollow links from authoritative sites, but maintain a natural link profile that includes nofollow links too (from social media, forums, etc.).

> **Pro tip:** A healthy backlink profile has a mix of dofollow and nofollow links. 100% dofollow looks unnatural.
