The iPhone app receives the same notifications as the web app: new leads and prospect activity, traffic swings, finished reports, task updates and billing notices. You choose which ones.

## Turn notifications on

1. **Open Settings** On Today, tap the grid button at the top left and choose **Settings**, then go to **Notifications**.
2. **Tap Turn on** iOS asks for permission once. If you said no before, the button reads **Open Settings** and takes you to the iPhone's settings for the app.
3. **Pick your topics** Every topic starts on. Switch off the ones you don't want. Your choice applies to this iPhone.

| Topic | When it arrives |
| --- | --- |
| **New leads** | The moment someone asks for an audit, plus prospect activity: a prospect opens or replies to an audit, or views, accepts or declines a proposal. |
| **Traffic ups and downs** | When a site's clicks rise or fall 20% or more in a week, and other alerts. |
| **Reports** | When a scheduled report is ready. |
| **Tasks** | When a task finishes or needs you. |
| **Billing** | Credits running low and payment problems: a failed payment, a trial ending, an upcoming renewal, or a client payment due. |

**Alert settings** sets which alerts you get and how sensitive they are. These settings are shared with the web app.

## Buttons on notifications

Touch and hold a notification to act without opening the app first:

- A new lead has **Call** and **Email**, which dial or write to the person straight away, and **Open**.
- A traffic alert has **Open site**, which opens that site on Today, and **Ask assistant**, which asks why its clicks changed this week.
- Report and task notifications open the right screen when tapped.

## Background refresh

The app refreshes the open site, your site list and the widgets in the background, so the numbers are current when you open it or glance at a widget. iOS decides when that happens based on how you use the app, usually about once an hour at most. Our server can also wake the app with a silent notification for the same refresh.

> **Tip:** If widgets look out of date, check **iPhone Settings → General → Background App Refresh** is on for AnotherSEOGuru, and that Low Power Mode is off. Opening the app always refreshes everything.

> **Note:** Signing out stops this iPhone's notifications and removes the account's Lock Screen activities.
