What is Content Gap Analysis

Content gap analysis is the process of comparing your content to competitors' to identify topics, keywords, or questions they cover that you're missing. It reveals opportunities to capture traffic and serve your audience better.

Example

Competitor ranks for 'running in rain' and 'running at night'. You have no content on these topics = content gaps.

How to apply it

Analyze competitor keywords you don't rank for, check PAA boxes for missed questions, survey customers about unanswered needs, use content gap tools.

Tip:Not every gap needs filling. Prioritize gaps that align with your business goals and have reasonable search volume. Quality > quantity.
