What is Zero-Click Search

Zero-click searches occur when users find their answer directly on the SERP (via featured snippets, knowledge panels, or AI Overviews) without clicking through to any website. This trend is growing with AI integration.

Example

Searching 'weather today' shows the forecast directly. No click needed. Same for 'how old is Tom Hanks' or simple calculations.

How to apply it

Optimize for featured snippets to get brand exposure even without clicks, target queries with commercial/transactional intent that require clicks, track brand visibility not just clicks.

Tip:Zero-click isn't always bad. Being the answer in a featured snippet builds brand awareness even without clicks. Adjust your KPIs accordingly.
