What is Keyword Density

Keyword density is the ratio of a target keyword's frequency to total words on a page, expressed as a percentage. While once important, modern SEO focuses more on natural language and semantic relevance than specific density targets.

Example

If 'running shoes' appears 10 times in a 1,000-word article, the keyword density is 1%.

How to apply it

Aim for 1-2% naturally, but focus on synonyms and related terms. Use your keyword in the first 100 words, in headings, and in the conclusion.

Tip:If you have to force keywords in, you're overdoing it. Write for humans first, search engines second.
