What is Link Equity (Link Juice)

Link equity (colloquially 'link juice') refers to the value and authority that a hyperlink passes from one page to another. Factors affecting link equity include the linking page's authority, relevance, link placement, and anchor text.

Example

A dofollow link from a high-authority homepage passes more equity than a nofollow link buried in a footer.

How to apply it

Earn links from high-authority pages, ensure links are dofollow, get contextual links (within content), and build relevance between linking and linked pages.

Tip:Links from pages with fewer outbound links pass more equity per link. A page linking to 3 sites passes more per link than one linking to 100.
