What is Image Pack

The Image Pack is a horizontal row of images that appears within organic search results for queries where visual content is relevant. Clicking these images takes users to Google Images or directly to the source page.

Example

Searching 'running shoe styles' might show an image pack with photos of different running shoes inline with web results.

How to apply it

Optimize images with descriptive filenames, use relevant alt text, ensure images are high quality, create image-heavy content for visual queries, use image sitemaps.

Tip:Images that appear in the Image Pack often drive significant traffic. Check GSC's 'Image' search type to see which images are performing.
