What is Topical Authority

Topical authority is the perceived expertise a website has on a particular subject area. Sites with topical authority tend to rank better for related queries because Google trusts them as comprehensive sources.

Example

A website dedicated to running with 100+ detailed articles on training, shoes, nutrition, and injuries has topical authority in running.

How to apply it

Cover your topic comprehensively, create content clusters, earn links from topic-relevant sites, build author expertise, update content regularly.

Tip:You don't need authority in everything. Pick your niche and go deep. A site about 'running' will outrank a general 'sports' site for running queries.
