What is Structured Data (Schema)

Structured data is a standardized format (typically JSON-LD) for providing explicit information about a page's content. It helps search engines understand entities, relationships, and can trigger rich results like stars, FAQs, and product info in SERPs.

Example

{ "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "Article", "headline": "SEO Guide", "author": {"@type": "Person", "name": "John Doe"} }

How to apply it

Use JSON-LD format, validate with Google's Rich Results Test, implement relevant schema types (Article, Product, FAQ, HowTo), avoid spammy markup.

Tip:Not all schema types trigger rich results. Focus on types Google explicitly supports and documents.
