What is Thin Content

Thin content refers to pages that provide little unique value - they may be too short, duplicate other content, be auto-generated, or simply not helpful to users. Google may demote thin content or penalize sites with too much of it.

Example

A 100-word product description copied from the manufacturer, or tag pages with just a list of post titles and no context.

How to apply it

Audit for thin pages (under 300 words without good reason), noindex low-value pages, consolidate similar thin pages, add unique value to product descriptions.

Tip:Word count alone doesn't define thin content. A 200-word page that perfectly answers a simple question is better than 2,000 words of fluff.
